Trials of Harmonia is a chaotic and unforgiving take on online multiplayer action-puzzle games.

This is a passion project started with the intention to learn more about game design. Overall we were a small team that all had a love for video games and interactions and wanted to take a stab at designing the concept for a video game.

How to Play:
Each match begins with 50 players scattered randomly throughout the outskirts of the island with the simple task of heading towards the center.
As they travel they encounter complex puzzles that require teamwork to overcome.

Game Mechanics
Merging
If at least two characters are within close proximity, they can merge to become a Melossus, a large more powerful amalgamation of players.
There is no limit to how many players can combine at once. While in this form, one player is the conductor and is in charge of controlling the Melossus.
Other players are inside the Melossus fighting to keep it stable by maintaining good Harmony.
Harmony is the essence that holds the Melossus together. To sustain this Harmony, players are challenged with a rhythm mini-game.
Seperation
There is no time limit for how long players can remain merged. As time passes and more players join, the tempo speeds up and Harmony becomes more difficult to maintain.
Too many missed notes break the Harmony and send players flying across the map and back into their original forms.
Different obstacles require different combinations of players. It'll be interesting to see how players continually learn and strategies to overcome obstacles.
Trials

Communication
Players communicate by emitting musical notes. The notes can be heard by nearby players and can direct them to more important locations.
The more players concentrated in one area playing notes creates a melody that amplifies the range of their sounds. The more players you can get together, the stronger they'll be when they merge.
